I think this song is about Jesse’s relationship with his dad, maybe his dad didn’t approve of him being in a band. This causes them not to talk like he’s basically saying. This song has nothing to do with john. It’s definitely about family issues. “you are the blood in my vains” he’s referring to someone in his family.
